Beginnings Family Services

Adoptive Family Registration

To be eligible for registration, you must be considered fully Adopt Ready. This means you have completed your P.R.I.D.E. training, had a Home Study completed by a private adoption practitioner, and ensured that all required supporting documents are current and up to date, and have been submitted to Beginnings to be included in your file.

Please Note: Due to the shifting demographics and requests of our birth parents, along with the large number of families pursuing adoption in Ontario – we are unable to accept applicants that have more than one child.

If you would like to begin the registration process to adopt through Beginnings Family Services, please complete the Adoptive Applicant Registration Form below, and carefully follow the steps listed at the top of the form. Registrations will be processed once we receive the registration form, Home Study, and all the supporting documentation.

Beginnings onboarding process may take up to 4 months after your application is received.

All applicants are required to attend Beginnings virtual orientation and complete a consultation via Microsoft Teams, prior to being placed on the Active List and potentially considered for a match.

Orientation will be facilitated 3 times a year. After your registration is sent in, we will confirm which orientation group you will be placed in.

Home Study Reminders:

If you have completed your Home Study through CAS, you will need a SAFE Home Study update to be completed by a private adoption practitioner.

Beginnings advises families to work on renewing their documents at least 8 weeks in advance of expiry to ensure there are no delays. Please refer to your private adoption practitioner for details.

  • Broad Record Checks – Valid for 3 years
  • Offence Declarations – To be updated yearly and accompany your Broad Record Checks
  • Child Welfare Checks – Valid for 1 year
  • Medicals – Valid for 2 years
  • References – Valid for 2 years
  • Home Study – Valid for 2 years (requires SAFE update)

We also invite you to consider our Embryo Donor/Recipient Program, which is currently open and accepting new registrations. We have worked with 130+ donors and have welcomed over 100 babies to recipient families (many of whom were originally on our adoption list waiting to be matched.) For more information, contact info@beginnings.ca.

Once you have submitted your registration form, Home Study, and all supporting documentation, please allow for up to 10 business days for a response due to the high influx of emails we are receiving. We appreciate your patience during this time.
