We are Andrew and Stacie and we would be honored to be considered by you as parents for your baby.  We would like to take this opportunity to let you get to know us.  We can’t begin to imagine all of the thoughts and feelings you must be having as you go through this process. 

We look at you with great admiration and respect for the decisions you are making and for the love you have for your child.  At the end of our profile (once you have learned more about us) we hope that we will have helped you in your decision, and that you will feel with all confidence that you have found the best home possible for your baby.

WHY WE WANT TO ADOPT & OUR ADOPTION VIEWS….

We love children and have always dreamed of starting a family and are so excited to become parents through adoption.  We look forward to the opportunity to meet with you so we can learn about you and your baby’s background and to discuss any details.  Meeting will help us in the future to be able to speak openly and honestly with your child when explaining their adoption story.  It will help us to answer any questions your child may have.  We would be honored if you would share with us the naming of your child.  We are excited and looking forward to building a relationship with you through letters, photos, emails and visits.

ABOUT ANDREW by Stacie….

Andrew is in his late twenties.  He is 5’8” and weighs 175 lbs.  He has brown curly short hair, blue/green eyes, and is always clean shaven.  Andrew is a fantastic husband and devoted family man. He will be a wonderful father.  He loves children, which is evident when watching him with our nephew, cousins, and family friends, and cannot wait to have a child join our family. He is very understanding, loving, supportive, honest, hard working, and responsible (just to name a few of qualities that I love about him, and a few of the things that will make him a terrific dad). Andrew studied theatre production but decided that it would keep him away too much and now works as a Service Advisor for Midas Car Care. Andrew comes from a family of four: his mom, dad, and sister.  Andrew is adventurous and has many hobbies and interests with which to fill his spare time.  Some of the things he enjoys are: baseball, curling, exercising, walking, biking, movies, and games (such as karaoke, cards, and monopoly).  He also enjoys working around the house, fiddling with electronics, and tinkering with the car.

ABOUT STACIE by Andrew….

Stacie is in her late twenties and is 4’8” and 115 lbs. She has brown eyes and short wavy brown hair. Stacie is living proof that good things come in small packages. She has had her share of obstacles along the way, but she has faced them all and is a much stronger person because of them. She inspires me every day that I spend with her. Stacie can always find the positive side in everything. She comes from a family of four: her mom, dad and younger sister. Stacie is a very family oriented person. I know for a fact that Stacie will be a great mother. She loves kids and they love her. Stacie loves spending time with the children in our families and seeing the kids that come into her work. Stacie lights up around children, and I think it’s because she is a big kid at heart. Stacie is a very caring person. She always puts other people’s needs first, and she can never stay mad for more than five minutes. These, along with many other good characteristics, make Stacie a great person to be around and a wonderful wife. Stacie works as a pharmacy assistant. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going for walks, finding new recipes to create, playing games and sports (including curling and baseball).

OUR INTERESTS AS A COUPLE….

We are lucky because we share a lot of the same interests.  We play baseball in the summer, and curl in the winter.  We have a great love for traveling and welcome new experiences.  We also enjoy just hanging out together, working around the house, going for walks or bike rides, or just relaxing watching TV, a hockey game, or a movie. 

In the summer we like to be out and about going swimming, playing sports, going on daytrips or even short getaways.  We enjoy camping, picnics, and going canoeing.  Because of Stacie’s large family (Stacie’s Dad is the youngest of 12) we have lots of family get-together’s.  We are close with almost all of our family.  We go “home” at least once a month.  We enjoy the holidays and all the festivities surrounding them, including going to the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins at Halloween, and many Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Eve traditions. We were both raised in the Christian faith and currently attend the United Church on special occasions.  Upon becoming parents, we will continue to attend the United Church and will try to attend more regularly.  We are a fun-loving couple, lucky enough to have stable jobs and home, and cannot wait for the opportunity to share the things we enjoy most with your child.

OUR PARENTING BELIEFS….

As we do with everything, we will be sharing the parenting responsibilities.  We realize that parenting is not easy and is a lot of work and responsibility.  We aspire to be the kind of parents who can be a friend but also have the ability to set boundaries and limitations.  Some of the ideas we have in mind in terms of discipline are: an explanation of what the child has done wrong and why it was wrong, removal of privileges, timeouts, sending them to their room, and explaining consequences.  We do not believe in physical punishment.  We want to provide your child with many opportunities, as well as a good education, home life, and all the life experiences we can.  We hope that our parenting views are in line with yours and we will do our best with the responsibility we have been given.
