We are Paul and Jodi and we thank you for the opportunity to share a bit about our selves with you. We love to laugh, sing and have adventures. Both of our backgrounds are in the Arts. Jodi is a visual artist with a strong background in vocal music. Her entire family loves to sing and play music and to create. Jodi likes to draw and paint. She often brings a sketch pad on our long walks in the woods. Paul is a teacher with summers off leaving him lots of time to swim, hike, create art and cartoons and play music in a number of local bands.
As a couple we are open and honest. We also have a strong open dialogue between us in which we share every good or bad thing in life with each other. Our ability to have an open communication is based on trust. We love camping, hiking, swimming and the great outdoors. Life is a roller coaster with lots of twist and turns. Sometimes you don't know what to expect. It's a great ride. Lift up your hands and enjoy every moment.
How we Met
PAUL: Our first real meeting happened within an Art history course at University. We walked out of the class together and Jodi conveniently missed her bus home.
JODI: I thought Paul was cute and funny in art class but it was his outlook on life at school that really intrigued me. Our love of art, music and B movies brought us even closer. It's really important to both of us to have a good sense of humour.
Why Adoption
We have been unable to have our own children. Our doctor encouraged us to pursue adoption. He said that he thought we would make “great parents". We realize that the most important thing we could do with our lives now is to share our love with a child and help them grow into the person they have the potential to be

About Paul:
I have a second degree black belt and train two to three times a week. My father was born in Germany and my mother in Canada. I find myself humorous. I like to laugh, create art and play music. I am a teacher and teach traditional visual arts, computer graphic design, computer business application software, theatre arts and music. I play in a number of cover acts in and around the Niagara area. I like to draw anything and everything. I also like the outdoors and camping and travelling to see other countries and cultures. I have a sister and a brother in-law. They have two sons aged 13 and 8 years.

About Jodi:
I'm a slim, brown eyed, reddish-brown haired Canadian who’s proud to be of British descent. Since I was a little girl I've loved to sing. Our family get-togethers are important and the time spent together is just as fun as when we were kids - even better since we get to share it with nephews, niece-in-laws, cats and dogs from all sides of the family! I have two sisters and one brother, each is married with children. My sisters live near by and my brother lives in the Yukon. I like to spend time outdoors, reading a good book or trying one of Jamie Oliver's special recipes. My sisters are excited about our adoption process. They would be great babysitters!

Our Marital Relationship:
From the very beginning we've known that our relationship is a gift. We get along famously and find that open communication works best to resolve any problems or concerns. We like to have fun, laugh and enjoy each other's company. We enjoy listening and singing to music, reading a good book and going for long walks. Our marriage is a life relationship built on trust, mutual respect and honesty. As parents our role would be that of a nurturing, loving couple - one that can share love and life lessons. We feel that we have lots to offer not only on an emotional level but also creatively and intellectually.
Our House:
We live in a ranch-bungalow style home situated a rural setting with trees and nature paths. The house has three full bedrooms upstairs, two full bathrooms and an en-suite, a living room, formal dinning room, den and large kitchen. The basement has five different rooms. We also have a cat, “Meeps” and a dog, “Tic Tac” which get along famously with children.

Views on Religion:
As a couple we have a shared common faith. It's this common faith that's been the foundation of our relationship. We have been attending a local church for the past thirteen years. Throughout this time both of us have taken an active roll in ministry, mainly within the worship team.
Views on adoption
We feel that adoption is an opportunity for us to actually have children. We plan to share your child's background early in life as part of their unique story. We will provide your child with all the resources that he or she will need to help them grow throughout their life. We look forward to an open, growing relationship with you and your child. A relationship built on trust, communication and integrity.

Closing Thoughts
Be assured that your child will be loved. The love of a child is pure and everlasting, a gift, and we look forward to sharing our lives, together in this love.
