Parenting is a lifelong commitment with many challenges and rewards. It is important to understand what parenting will require of you. Your counsellor will help you look at what you would need to do to prepare to parent your baby, as well as direct you to resources in your community. We can also include your key family members and support people in the counselling process. |

Here are some questions you will want to consider:
Will I be parenting on my own?
Where can I live with my baby?
What kind of help is available?
Can I continue my education?
Can I still choose adoption later if parenting doesn't work out?
If parenting becomes too difficult and you would like to re-consider adoption, that is possible. But separating from a child with whom you have bonded is difficult. A wise and experienced counsellor can help you and your child through this process, especially with an open adoption.
